Christmas cards
I nearly always end up making my Christmas cards in shades of blue, not really sure why this is. But i always seem to come back to these colours.

I have tried hard with this set of cards to use traditional reds and greens as well......Blue does keep on sneaking back in there tho!

My favorite card.

Christmas always catches up with me fast, I have a master plan of everything that I would like to make.... Then when I'm not looking its only a few weeks away.

You always need a few cards that are fast and not to difficult to make, but still look the part. That's what these are my fall back cards, for when time just runs out.

Mother's Day
Always a challenge for me, I make three cards!  My Mum, her sister aunt Jessie (My second mum) and my Mothering law.

My Mum's
Mothering laws

                                                              And finally Aunt Jessies.

A few more pictures, I've tried to show you some of the details.

The background papers are from the Mariposa stack,  love these so nice.  Add some stamping, lots of lace and flowers and hey presto beautiful pictures in nice frames.

 Time.
It was my son's 21st birthday yesterday.... Can't believe where the time has gone!

After painting a canvas, adding texture and making it a bit rusty looking. I like old!
found a swirl image in my files, I printed onto image transfer paper. All you need is an iron and it works a treat, so easy to do.
I always go into the clock shop in the town where i live, its facinating i like to look at all of the old clocks....very sad life I have.lol   I.ve got to know the chap that owns the shop and he now saves me all of the clock/watch parts that are of no use to him. These are some of the stash I've had off him. Aren't the great.

And of course some Tim Holtz bits, noboby can live with out those. You can just make out the background on this photo.

The tag was coloured with DI inks, arter dismanteling an old clock and ripping out the face sounds easier than it was. I stamped a tree image onto it.  The text at the bottom reads.....

To lie sometimes on the grass
under trees on a summers day,
listening to the murmur of the water,
or watching the clouds float across the sky,
is by no means a waste of time.

Yesterday after i posted the pictures I had another play around with this one.  I made some metal flowers and put some lace behind and finally popped it in a frame.   I really pleased with the result.
A close up of the flowers.

Wax Works...
I've been playing around with bees wax for the past few weeks and thought I'd share them with you.

I started using tissue paper and layering it over a painted canvas, added some stamping. I was not very happy with the end result but couldn't quite put my finger on what it was that I didn't like. After a week of it sitting on my shelf looking at me, it was the colours I didn't like...> out came the alcohol inks and beads, after a bit of playing around I much preferred it now...
This is a close up of some of the details, I stamped into the wax as it was setting.

I was please you can still see the stamping .

I only used small amounts of wax on this card to add texture.

The gold wax mixed beautifully with the bees wax, the way it swirled around gave a nice effect.
I attached two small canvas together with a hinge, added texture and painted them.  I then went rooting around all my bits and bobs, too see what else worked with the wax. Almost anything does!

Finally an old favourite that I've used many times. The wax gave it a nice vintage look to it.

A Wise old Owl.

A wise old owl lived in an oak,
The more he saw the less he spoke,
The less he spoke the more he heard,
Why can't we all be like that wise old bird.

Workshop dates.
Saturday 26th Feb
Saturday 19th March
I love this picture, had such a good time making it
I was even getting up in the middle of the night. Why do your best ideas materialise when you are meant to be sleeping!

Fabrics, painting, ribbons, stitching, stamping, stenciling and embellishments. A very mixed media project.
I think Owls are great at the minute, my new favourite thing.......!!

Petites et Bella
    Small and Beautiful.......

This is my favourite book. The photo's don't do it justice, the colours are wonderful.

Yes I've been burning paper again!
Distress inks to add colour to the background and for the stamping.

I used Ten second studio and tintz inks to create the front and back covers.

Lots of ribbon and beads to finish off.

Petites et Bella
       Small and Beautiful.....
These little books make a great gift and are so easy to make.

This one has a gardening theme. I've used wax and alcohol inks to create the front and back covers. Every page is stamped and decorated. I raided my garden and shed so i could show how it looks fully decorated.
